MENTORING PROGRAM
One of the initiatives of CEIA Mujeres is to promote a mentoring program aimed at Hispanic or Portuguese-speaking women who are starting out in the world of arbitration, want to enter the world of arbitration or seek to promote or balance their career.
The Program is open to all female members of the CEIA and has widely regarded professionals (both male and female) from different jurisdictions as mentors.
In 2017 we started our inspiring mentoring program with 80 requests from the most diverse origins (Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, Brazil, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, El Salvador, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Holland, Switzerland, Poland, United States, and Timor-Leste), and with the most varied profiles (very young lawyers, some still in practice, at the beginning of their professional career, litigants looking for new horizons, lawyers of offices, many international, partners of their own offices, professionals of arbitration courts, local and international, women also working as experts or in public institutions).
For all of them, Elena Gutiérrez and Filipa Cansado Carvalho carried out (and continue to do so) an extraordinary task matching, looking for the most suitable mentors, in which, once again, diversity has predominated. Men and women of different ages and backgrounds have generously embarked on the project (arbitrators, lawyers, arbitrators and lawyers at the same time, arbitrators who have been lawyers; lawyers from national and international law firms, partners and non-members, managing partners, practice leaders; lawyers from boutiques and their own firms; professors, in-house counsels, people working in institutions, members of bodies of arbitration organisations). Our mentors come mainly from Spain, Portugal and Brazil, but also from France, the United States, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Nigeria, being located in cities as different as Bratislava, Bogota, Madrid, London, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, Quito, Amsterdam, Paris and Miami.
Come join us as a mentor or mentee in the new editions of this inspiring program!
